THE CHILDREN’S HOME IN MAFUBIRA

The children’s home in Mafubira was started by Lufafa in 2014. The pictures below were from Jazmen’s trip in 2017. Over the years, the children’s home has grown. We started caring for 16 children in a rented house. Now we have two homes on our own land with a bore hole, garden, chickens, and cows. The children’s home is becoming self-sustaining. The Lighthouse children’s home was started to meet children’s physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. We are now helping 41 children. These children had no other caregivers and were severely sick and malnourished when they entered the Lighthouse children’s home. Dada lives with the children and has the help of many community members in providing emotional support, care, and love for the children.
