Testimonials

Andrew, a Ugandan native, was born in an impoverished family, being the last born out of three children. Andrew stated his parents were not educated and that each member of his family’s education did not go beyond the fifth grade. When Andrew and his siblings were young, their mother deserted the family and left their father to take care of them. Their grandmother then took in the children while Andrew’s father provided some support however, shortly after, he passed away due to HIV. His father was not able to receive treatment due to their poverty. Andrew’s father was very involved with helping Lufafa Emmanuel. Afterwards, family members took care of Andrew and his siblings, but neglected them. Andrew felt his life was going nowhere. “I used to cry asking God why I was born. God heard my cry.” Lufafa took Andrew in and cared for him. Lufafa paid school fees and invited Andrew to live with him. Andrew is happily living with Lufafa. Andrew planned on continuing his education, however, with his lack of education throughout the years, school personnel said he was too old to be in school. Andrew decided to put school on pause and focus on some hands on work and pursue dreams of attending mechanic school. He enjoys working with his hands and feels that even though he is not in the typical school setting, he is eager to learn. “I have a bright future. Thank you.”

Jazmen had the opportunity to meet Andrew during her visit to meet Lufafa in Uganda this past summer. Andrew was very helpful around the compound and he always had everyone laughing. He was shy at first and loved taking selfies. He is a huge help to Lufafa caring for the children at the children’s home. He will transport food and supplies, and clean. Andrew attends a local church, where Lufafa often preaches. Andrew is hopeful that God will fulfil his dream of mechanic school and will use him in powerful ways to bring hope to other children.

UPDATE: Andrew was enrolled in mechanic school and is loving it! You can join us to help support and make an impact in the lives of children like Andrew.
Andrew has learned to drive and is making a living driving trucks thanks to his sponsor.

Rose is doing well at the local University. Rose grew up in the village of Buluuta where LCM wants to continue serving and working towards community development. Rose says,

“When I was young I used to admire computer wizards. As I continued to grow up I fell in love with accounting career and I would tell people that I yearn to be an accountant. As time moved on, I loved business as a career, but for God’s love am studying all computer. After university I can do business via computer, I can be an accountant as well as a computer wizard.. That if there is computer failure, I will be of help. Glory be to God as well as I appreciate my sponsors and everyone else who wishes me well. May God bless you. I love you. With trust in God, my dream is coming to pass.”

Jazmen met Rose last year in Uganda. Rose has a tender, humble, and caring heart. She loves to sing and volunteers her time to teach the children at her church about the love and faith of Jesus. She would love to see LCM grow. Her desire is to become a paid employee of LCM so she can continue helping people in Buluuta. Jazmen remembers washing dishes with Rose. She would ask Jazmen questions about life in America. Jazmen asked her questions about her life growing up in Buluuta. Rose explained with empathy in her voice that, “Many people died in the village due to starvation. People would share what they had. People had only two outfits and worked 15 or more hours a day tending to their garden. People are very poor and even sleep with their cows inside their huts.”

Lufafa (her brother) rescued her from marriage and early pregnancy at the age of 12. Her younger life was not easy, however, she persisted in trusting Jesus to fulfill her dreams.

The picture is Rose and Jazmen planting a tree in Buluuta. It’s customary for guests to plant a tree. Rose is truly a woman of God who trusts Jesus with everything. She is an inspiration.

When Lufafa Emmanuel contacted me, and shared his story about being rescued out of daily searching for food, not having a home, or daily necessities, I listened… now, God has blessed him, made sure he received an education, and put a burden on him for other children, with the same scenario. As Lufafa was telling me about his work and the children, the Holy Spirit assured me , this young man was the real deal, and honorable. Lufafa, doesn’t just feed and cloth the children, he teaches them the Word of God. He has taught them to pray, and be little warriors for the kingdom of God….Now God has given me a burden to support the kids, and I am blessed in doing so. I encourage anyone that wants to help needy kids, please consider supporting Lord’s Compassion Ministry in Uganda.

The Lord tells us to care for orphans and also tells us that whatever we do for the “least of these” we do unto Him. So, after developing a relationship with Jazmen and Lufafa and asking the Lord for guidance we became monthly supporters. We admire Lufafa for the work he does with these precious children and appreciate the work that Jazmen does too!! WE are so blessed and honored to help directlywith this organization. We can see our donations working in a tremendous way every time when we see them on Facebook and through the monthly letter.
