Newsletter July 2016

July 2016

July was a busy month speaking with three different groups in the Portland, Oregon area about the water well project.

We want to thank you all for your continued support to the children in Mafubira!

The Children
Lufafa was able to register 30 children for school. Thank you to the 5 people who donated to make that happen. Lufafa decided to transfer the children to a closer school.

As I promised last month, the list for the completion of the inside of the new clinic:
Tiles for the floor, Bags of cement for the floor, Toilet seats and taps, Wiring for electricity, Power installation, Water installation, Water tank, and Paint.

Cases at the clinic so far this year:
14 malaria cases
5 burn cases
8 respiratory tract infections
A total of 27 cases.

In the News
Many of you may have read about the war in Sudan. I asked Lufafa what it was like to live so close to such chaos. He said, Yesterday (7/11) “they killed many Ugandans again. The government of Uganda has now stopped all Ugandans from going to south Sudan.” Lufafa went on to tell me that Willy’s son was a truck driver and killed while in Sudan recently. Willy is an older gentleman that helps out at the clinic and a good friend to Lufafa.

Thank you all for your friendships, support, and prayers.
Love,
Jazmen and Lufafa
